Technical Assistance to Ministry of Education Ghana
Project summary
The programmes main objective was to build the institutional capacity of Ministry of Education (MoE) of Ghana in order to the MoE to leverage the potential of ICTs to address key educational challenges. The collaboration with the MoE covered developing policy and strategy for ICT integration; developing the capacity of the ministry, its agencies and key officials; developing an ICT skills curriculum for secondary schools, increasing awareness on the capabilities of Assistive Technologies for incusive education and mobilization of funds (from internal and external sources) through development of comprehensive plans and proposals.
GESCI’s role and achievements
GESCI provided a full-time dedicated ICT in Education expert to the MoE for four years. This full time advisor worked with MoE senior officials on a day-to-day basis to sharpen the vision and strategy of MoE as regards ICTs use and integration. In addition, GESCI provided its international experts from time to time as need. As a result of GESCI’s technical assistance, MoE and or its agencies and officials now hav
