Launch of African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) in Tanzania

The African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) will be launched in Tanzania next week!

DATE: October 10, 2017- Pwani and October 12, 2017- Morogoro

The Ministry of Education Science and Technology of Tanzania, The President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative (GESCI) will launch a program to transform 40 secondary schools in the Pwani and Morogoro regions in Tanzania into digital schools of distinction.

ADSI is a unique, innovative program to transform secondary schools into digital schools of excellence. It is designed specifically to build student 21St century skills, especially in Science Technology, English and Mathematics (STEM) subjects, and to enhance teachers’ practice across the school in using ICT in a way that is responsive to the needs of knowledge economies and societies and in the work place. The program will be rolled out in 20 schools in the Pwani region on October 12, 2017 and in a further 20 schools in Morogoro.

The African Digital Schools Initiative (ADSI) in Tanzania is part of a wider initiative across three countries in Africa  - Tanzania,Kenya, and Coté D’Ivoire in 2017.   

The African Digital Schools Initiative is funded by the Mastercard Foundation.
